Inserting Mother of Pearl or Abalone shell into the surface of an object (Wood in this case) is called an inlay. In old days this was done all by hand, nowadays we use a laser cutter to cut and engrave our wood and hand inlay the pieces.
Wood is glued to a soft rubber cover for better protection and slip-free grip. Your case will not be just an art statement but it will protect your phone from drops and in normal conditions, it will outlast your phone.

I love it-it looks like wood and really pretty. Plus love the fact it hinges like a magnet to the back of the phone so you can easily hold your phone in it (I never take it out). Plus it fits in my Weathertech cup in my truck-really versatile. Love it!

I was so impressed when I first opened it his as the leather on the side is a great idea although day 2 the card holder came apart, when speaking the the creator he said “I am sorry the product didn’t last as long as you would have liked” and offered a partial refund. I figure perhaps the glue used did not stand the test Of time on the hot Australian tarmac at the airport but after three months the case looks like it is three years old.
