Inserting Mother of Pearl or Abalone shell into the surface of an object (Wood in this case) is called an inlay. In old days this was done all by hand, nowadays we use a laser cutter to cut and engrave our wood and hand inlay the pieces.
Wood is glued to a soft rubber cover for better protection and a slip-free grip. Your case will not be just an art statement but it will protect your phone from drops and in normal conditions, it will outlast your phone.

I'm giving this case 3 stars only because the quality of the wood is cheaper than I expected (I have the sun/moon case in an older edition, and the wood was better quality). Also, the edges around the screen are really thin, and don't provide much protection. Again my old case had a thicker edge. Would only recommend if you don't care about those things.

This is the second case I've gotten from Ozzy, and it is just as high quality as the last. The engraving is stunning and the mother of pearl really makes the image come to life, and the option to add a customization makes it even more personalized. Ozzy is also really responsive, and it's easy to ask questions.
